Travel today seems complicated and I get it if you are READY to travel, but actually not ready to go yet. While we sit and wait, here are some steps to take to prep for any international trip. It’s likely that when you are ready to book, it’s going to be a last minute booking. So, how can you use this down time to prepare?
✉️Get your travel documents together
- Make sure your passport has at least 6 months before the expiration date. If you are coming close to expiring, make sure you get it renewed
- Make copies of your passport and drivers license and store in your luggage. Better yet make digital copies and put in an encrypted file that you can access during your vacation
- Get new passport photos to store with your travel documents. Why should you do this? If you lose your passport or get it stolen, having extra passport photos on hand is money. Trust me as someone who has had their passport stolen, it’s great to have extras
⛑Get all of your travel healthcare up to date
- While we wait, check to make sure your travel immunizations are up to date. Common travel immunizations include: Yellow Fever, Tetanus, Measles. This will expedite the process in case you decide to book a last minute trip abroad
- Take a look at the destinations you want to go to and see if they have any health requirements. It’s good to know what to expect. If you have any questions, reach out and ask!
🙋🏻♀️Start a conversation and learn!
- This is the perfect time to have a conversation with your family and friends about where you want to go when this is all done. It’s a perfect Zoom, phone call, or day to day conversation, so you are ready when the time comes!
- Got questions about what’s open, when places are expected to be open, or want a destination overview? Send me a quick email or click here to schedule a time to chat! In the following months, I’ll be doing some destination features to help you learn about the world.
Cheers to your wanderlust,
Kristie
